This book was written by the linguist Marc Okrand, at the request of Paramount Pictures.
The first part of the book describes the grammar of tlhIngan Hol. The second part contains a Klingon-English and English-Klingon dictionaries. An addendum was added, expanding both the grammar and the dictionaries.
This book, and Okrand's later works, were all allegedly written with the aid of the captive Klingon, Maltz.
