Memory Beta, the wiki for licensed Star Trek content.
Ballantine Books is an American book publisher, established in 1952. In the 1970s Ballantine published Franz Joseph's Star Trek: Starfleet Technical Manual and Alan Dean Foster's novelizations of Star Trek: The Animated Series.
In 2006, as part of Star Trek's 40th Anniversary celebration, Ballantine's titles were reprinted, though by Del Rey Books, which had been launched by Ballantine in 1977 as their science fiction and fantasy imprint.
